Brief info

A note from the chef, Sam Cary:

“My aim is to create delicious, modern food in a great atmosphere, using the best local seasonal produce possible. The Great Shefford sits in an area which is rich in high quality local produce – fish, meat, game, fruit, vegetables. I aim to use only the very best, to create and serve dishes that I know I would be happy to eat myself.”
“It has always been my ambition to work in the kitchens at some of the best restaurants in the country. I have worked at the renowned ‘Hand and Flowers’ and ‘Whatley Manor’. I am proud to be leading the team at The Great Shefford and feel privileged to be cooking for you in this beautiful pub.”
“I am passionate about cooking on coals and make the most of the Hibachi grill in the kitchen. I am sure you will appreciate the smoky notes throughout your meal.”
